Status: Full-time, one-year contract (local candidates only)
Salary: USD 350-450/month (pre-tax) 
Location: Phnom Penh, Cambodia

About Teach For Cambodia  

Established in 2017, Teach For Cambodia is a local non-profit organization that delivers relevant and quality education to students in public schools by transforming qualified university graduates into committed and effective teachers and leaders. TFC recruits fellows who share the low-income background of their students, nurtures them during the two-year program, and invests in building their capacity to understand the challenges of the Cambodian educational system and how they might be solved. We are working in partnership with our communities of school leaders, parents, the public sector, the private sector, local and international partners, and supporters. Looking ahead, TFC plans to expand its team and broaden our impact to more provinces in 2025 and beyond. 

Purpose of the Role

The Program Operations Officers ensure the smooth execution of Teach For Cambodia’s program by collaborating with various teams to plan, organize, and implement activities that support Fellow development and student outcomes. This role focuses on fostering operational efficiency, effective stakeholder engagement, and logistical coordination across the Fellowship journey. This role also contributes to training preparation, data management, and program visibility, playing a crucial role in enabling organizational leaders to prioritize objectives essential for achieving TFC’s mission and vision.

Key Accountabilities and Key Metrics

Program Coordination and Event Logistics

  • Creating program and project timelines, milestones, and deliverables and following up on progress with the Senior Program Manager and relevant team members. 
  • Ensure all program activities are successfully executed according to the program’s objectives, budget, and timeframe. 
  • Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, arranging travel, and handling correspondence.
  • Manage program budgets, expense reports, and reimbursements, while coordinating with the admin and finance team to support financial and logistical needs for events like training sessions, leadership retreats, and school visits.

Training and Materials Preparation

  • Support the creation, organization, and distribution of training materials and resources for Fellows.
  • Assist in compiling best practices and lessons learned from program activities for future improvement.
  • Ensure that all documentation, including the program’s success stories, is maintained appropriately.

Program Database and Monitoring

  • Assist in reviewing and updating program and project M&E plans and implementing M&E activities
  • Assist in the development of data collecting/recording, monitoring checklists, and reporting templates for the projects
  • Maintain an up-to-date program and project database with accurate data on implementation of project activities
  • Fill M&E forms in the field including observations, school surveys, fellow surveys etc.
  • Administer data collection from Fellows, students, and stakeholders.
  • Perform data entry, extraction, and cleaning in Google Sheets.
  • Conduct random spot checks on the database to ensure data integrity
  • Provide accurate and timely program data to Senior Program Manager and Executive Leaders as needed.

Minimum Qualification and Expectations

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field
  • 1-2 years experience in project management or coordination (including project planning, communication, budgeting and reporting)
  • Strong logical and process-based thinking
  • Proficiency in both Khmer and English is required
  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and/or Google Workspace Applications
  • Ability to develop action plans and progress trackers
  • Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and exceptional attention to detail
  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to manage multiple streams of work and independently prioritize tasks.
  • Highly adaptable and work effectively in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, deadline-driven, collaborative, and dynamic environment.
  • Strong desire to learn new things and grow professionally
  • Passion for Teach For Cambodia’s mission and the education field.
